1980
Mr Thian Hiong Boon led a contingent to the 1st Singapore National Jamboree at Sarimbun Scout Camp [ 12 - 19.12 ].
1981
Participated in the 1st Sabah Patrol Camp at Labuan [ 17 - 22.04 ].
1982
Mr Safri Awang Zaidell ( now Datuk Haji ) appointed as the 6th Chief Scout Commissioner, Sarawak [ 14.12 ].
More than 200 Scouts, led by Mr Peter Lim participated in the 5th Malaysian / 7th Asia-Pacific Jamboree at Kota Bahru, Kelantan. [ 09 - 16.04 ].
1984
Y B Datuk Amar Dr Sulaiman Haji Daud, the 1st Sarawakian to be appointed as the National Chief Scout, Malaysia [ 09.11 ].
Sarawak divided into 17 Scout Districts.
1985
Mr Thian Hiong Boon was employed as full-time Scout Executive Secretary. [ 01.04 ].
24 Scouters, led by Mr Said Haji Bolhassan scaled Mt. Kinabalu, Sabah and visited Labuan and Brunei. [ 09 - 15.04 ].
Participated in the 9th Asia-Pacific/11th Thailand National Jamboree at Vajiravudh Camp, Cholburi, Thailand [ 21 - 27.11 ].
Encik Said Hj Bolhassan, led the Sarawak Contingent to the 1st Brunei Darussalam National Jamboree at Gedong . [ 14 - 20.12 ].
1986
1st Sarawak Gilwell Reunion, under the leadership of Mr Geoffrey Teo, held in Kuching [ 01.03 ].
1st Sarawak Cubboree was held at SRK Mejer General Datuk Ibrahim, and it Camp Chief was ACC Sdra. Felix Thang. (15-17.11).
A 129-member Contingent, led by ACC Mr Zasran Abdullah participated in the 6th Malaysian Jamboree at Kuantan, Pahang Darul Makmur [ 06 - 13.12 ].
4 Scout Regions were created in Sarawak.
1987
Wisma Pengakap Sibu was officially declared open by YB Datuk Dr Wong Soon Kai on 22 February, in conjuction with the World Scout Day Celebration.
1st Regional III Patrol Camp at Sibu [ 31.07 - 04.08 ].
19 Scouts and Scouters, led by Encik said Hj Bolhassan participated in the 16th World Jamboree at Cataract Scout Park, Sydney, Australia. [30.12.87 - 9.1.88 ].
1988
Mr David U attended the 31st World Conference at Melbourne, Australia [ 11 - 15.01 ].
Participated in the 9th National Thailand Rover Moot [ 24 - 28.03 ].
Participated in the 5th Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Jamboree [ 23 - 27.06 ].
4th Sarawak Patrol Camp was held at Kem Matang attended by 800 participants [ 14 - 20.11 ].
1989
A 90-member Contingent, led by ACC Mr Felix Thang attended the 7th Malaysian Jamboree at Telok Batik, Manjong, Perak Darul Ridzuan [ 24 - 31.07 ].
Participated in the 12th National Thailand Jamboree at Vajiravudh Camp, Thailand [ 21 - 27.11 ].
The Scouts Association of Malaysia ( Incorporation ) Act No: 38 of 1968 was revised under Law of Malaysia Act No: 409 of 1989 [ 14.12 ].
1990
A Scout Rally was held at Central Padang, Kuching to mark the 75th Anniversary Celebrations of Scout Movement in Sarawak [ 12.05 ].
Kem Matang ( Joint Scouts & Girl Guides Permanent Campsite ) was declared open by the Chief Minister of Sarawak. [ 19.05 ].
Sarawak King's Scout Brotherhood was officially registered and launched. [ 1.6 ].
A 258-member Contingent, led by Mr Abang Hamdan Abang Jas participated in the Selangor International Jamboree at Kem Temasya, Templer Park, Selangor Darul Ehsan inconjunction with 'Visit Malaysia Year 1990' [ 15 - 25.11 ].
1991
Scouting in Sarawak was extended into 9 Scout Regions, following the Government Administrative divisions.
1st Sarawak Sea Scout Camp was held at Santubong, Kuching, attended by 150 Sea Scouts [ 24 - 27.05 ].
18 Scouts and Scouters participated in the 17th World Jamboree at Mt. Sorak, Korea [ 08 - 15.08 ].
1992
Mr Thian Hiong Boon, the Scout Executive Secretary completed the 35th Asia-Pacific Basic Management Course for Professional Scout Executives at Mt. Makiling, Philippines [ 14 - 29.02 ].
10 Pengakap Remaja awarded the Pengakap Raja Badges and Loyal Certificates from TYT Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak. ( 4.3 )
1st Sarawak Sea Scouts Camp was held at Santubong, attended by 150 Sea Scouts. The Camp Chief was ACC Sdra. Hj Sulaiman Abu Bakar (24 - 27.5)
Former Organising Commissioner for North Borneo, Sarawak and Brunei, Mr G W Steven made a home-coming visit to the 3 regions, from 18-27.8.
A 667-member Contingent, led by Mr David U participated in the 8th Malaysian Jamboree at Tambunan, Sabah to commemorate 80 Years of Scouting in Malaysia [ 14 - 21.11 ].
3 Hong Kong Scouts, led by Mr Michael Siu visited Kuching. (22-24.11)
The term “Local Scout association” was changed to “District Scout Council”.
1993
Y B Wan Hj Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar appointed as the 7th Chief Scout Commissioner, Sarawak [ 01.01 ].
33 Scout Districts were formed.
8 persons attended the 33rd World Conference in Bangkok [ 19 - 25.07 ].
Mr Thian Hiong Boon awarded the Professional Scouter Medallion Badge by World Organisation of Scout Movement / Asia-Pacific Region.
34 Scouts attended the 1st ASEAN Jamboree, hosted by the Boy Scouts of the Philppines at Mt. Makiling, Laguna [ 28.12.93 - 04.01.94 ].
1994
Mr Vincent Kiew and Mr Said Haji Bolhassan represented in the Corporate Management Course, organised by National HQ at Genting [ 07 - 09.06 ].
A group of 22 Singapore Scouts visited Kuching [ 17 - 22.06 ].
Mr Geoffrey Teo represented PPM in the 1st APR Programme & Training Workshop in Hong Kong [ 08 - 12.07 ].
3 Pengakap Kelana participated in the 3rd Kelantan Rover Moot [ 22 - 27.08 ].
Participated in the 1st B-P Guild Seminar in Terengganu [ 27 - 28.08 ].
A Contingent of 21 Pengakap Kanak-Kanak and Scouters led by Sdri. Josephine John participated in the 2nd Malaysian Cubboree at Batu Pahat, Johore [ 28.10 - 01.11 ].
1995
Celebrated the 80th Anniversary of Scouting Movement in Sarawak.
2nd Sarawak Sea Scout Camp was held in Belawai, hosted by Sarikei District Scout Council [ 21 - 24.05 ].
5 Scouters attended 18th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Conference at Singapore [ 19 - 23.06 ].
Sdra. Geoffrey Teo was recruited as a member of the APR Scout Foundation at Singapore. (21..6)
5th Sarawak Scouts Patrol Camp was held in Miri, attended by 1,000 participants, including Scouts from Sabah, Brunei and Japan [ 21 - 25.08 ].
The Chief Scout Commissioner, YB Wan Hj Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar led a delegation for an 'International Goodwill Visit' to the Philippines. [ 09 - 15.11 ).
A 60-member Pramuka Indonesia delegation, from the various universities, visited Kuching for 4 days [ 17 - 21.11 ].
The World Organisation of Scout Movement celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations.
1996
Mr Kim Kyu Young, the Asia-Pacific Regional Director of the World Scout Bureau made visit to Kuching. (6 -8.4)
Tan Sri Datuk William Tan and Mr Leslie Marjoribanks recruited as members of the APR Scout Foundation. (7.4)
After serving as President of the Sarawak Scout council for 39 years, Tan Sri Datuk William Tan officially handed over his post to YB Dato Hj Adenan Hj Satem on 7.4.
The Courses for Assistant Leader Trainer (No. 20 & 21) were for the first time held outside Malaysia, attended by 65 Scout Leaders from Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei. (30.11 - 6.12)
1997
17 Pengakp Remaja awarded the Pengakap Raja Badge and the Loyal Certificates by TYT at Astana on 22.5.
Gallantry Award was presented by TYT to Sdra. Rattis Koldinan ak Koliew and Sdra. Helearn ak Wilfred for rescuing a drowning student in Lundu in 1996. (22.5)
The state training team organised a Seminar on Comminications, Public Relations and Protocol for about 40 scout officials and Scouters in Kuching from June 27 -29.
A 265-member contingent, led by RC Sdra. Joseph Chong attended the 18th APR/9th Malaysian Scouts Jamboree at Besut, Trengganu. (1-8.8)
YB Wan Hj Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, Sdra. Said Hj Bolhassan and Sdra. Geoffrey Teo made a goodwill visit to Brunei for promoting the BIMP-EAGA Jamboree.
1998
Sdra. Geoffret Teo, Sdra. David U, Sdra. Awang Ali Basah , Sdr a. Abang Hamdan Abg. Jas and Sdra. Tan Hock Siew attended the 19th APR Scout Conference in Hong Kong. (26 - 30.7)
A 22-member group, led by Dc James Liew attended the 20th APR/8th National Taiwan Scout Jamboree. (1 - 8.8)
7 Scout Commissioners from Singapore Scout Association, led by Mr Anthony Th’ny made a 4-day goodwill study trip to Kuching. (29.11- 3.12)
1999
Sdra. Geoffrey Teo and Sdra. Jamal Harim attended the 35th World Scout Conference at Durban, South Africa. (26-30.7.)
61 participants attended a Workshop for Scout Commissioners, in preparation for the BIMP-EAGA Scout Jamboree. (25-26.9)
Sdra. Thian Hiong Boon was invited as tutor/counsellor at the 42th APR Basic Management Course for Professional Scouters in the Philippines. (31.8.- 14.9). He also attended the 2nd Advanced Management Course for Professional Scout Executives at the Philippines Scouting Centre for Asia-Pacific Region. ( 29.11 - 5.12)
40 Scouts from Queenstown District, Singapore visited Kuching.
30 Scouts from Kuching City District made a return visit to Singapore from 22 -28 12.
2000
To usher the 1st Scout event for the new millennium, the 1st ASEAN Scout Assembly & Dinner was held on 22.2., attended by 900 Scouts and Scout officials. The Guest-of-Honour was YAB Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Hj Abdul Taib Mahmud; also attending were Scout officials from Indonesia, Singapore, Sabah, Labuan, KLM, Selangor, Melaka and Penang and the National Scout Headquarters.
Asia-Pacific Regional Workshop on Information Technology and Public Relations to be held in Kuching, from 24 - 28 May. 15 countries are expected to participate.
Launching of the Homepage for Scouts of Sarawak. (26.5)
1st BIMP-EAGA Jamboree to be attended by 6,000 participants from 13 countries, at km 23, Jalan Matang, from 28 May to 4 June.
